Zelenskyy: Kursk Operation Achieved Its Goal, Eased Russian Pressure on Key Fronts

On March 14, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine’s Kursk operation has fulfilled its main task by forcing Russian troops to shift focus away from several key directions.
Speaking at a meeting with journalists, as reported by Suspilne, Zelenskyy said: “The situation is very difficult now. I can only thank our soldiers for this operation. It has achieved its goal.”
According to the President, as a result of the operation, Russian forces began withdrawing troops from the Kharkiv, Sumy, and Pokrovsk directions, which helped ease pressure on Ukrainian defenses.
Zelenskyy noted that initially, the pressure decreased near Kharkiv, and later Russian troops started pulling back from eastern areas. He also mentioned that the situation near Pokrovsk has now stabilized: “The situation there is stable now, which makes it harder for the occupiers to re-occupy Pokrovsk,” Zelenskyy added.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social, claiming he urged Russian leader Vladimir Putin to “save the lives of Ukrainian soldiers,” who he said were “completely surrounded by the Russian military.”
