On March 4, 2025, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in his evening address, acknowledged growing concerns about the future of U.S. assistance to Ukraine. He reassured the public that efforts were underway to obtain clear information from American officials.

“Today, many people have one question: what will happen next with aid from America?” Zelenskyy said.

“I have instructed Ukraine’s defense minister, intelligence chiefs, and diplomats to contact their counterparts in the United States and receive official information. People should not have to guess. Ukraine and America deserve a respectful dialogue, a clear position from one another—especially when it comes to protecting lives during a full-scale war.”

Zelenskyy also addressed previous disruptions in U.S. support.

“Of course, in Ukraine, we have been receiving different signals for weeks, and there has already been a precedent for halting aid. Humanitarian aid, energy assistance—these were stopped. Military aid was also paused at the end of January, but we managed to restore it quickly,” Zelenskyy noted.

Zelenskyy emphasized Ukraine’s resilience despite these challenges.

“We saw the risks. That’s why our services—both military and special services—have developed action plans for any scenario. This is not 2022. Our resilience is stronger now. We have the means of protection. But for us, maintaining a normal, partnership-based relationship with America is important for a real end to the war. None of us want an endless war.”

Previously, it was reported that the U.S. suspended military aid to Ukraine, threatening one of the country’s crucial lifelines against Russia in an unprecedented move since the start of the full-scale invasion.
