Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy outlined a week of relentless Russian aerial terror against Ukraine, noting the deployment of more than 1,800 attack drones, over 1,200 guided aerial bombs and 83 missiles of various types, as stated in the morning address on his social platform X published on July 13.

Despite Moscow’s bid to “intimidate our people” through sustained strikes on cities and communities, Zelenskyy praised Ukraine’s air defense forces for their “good results” in intercepting hundreds of Russian-Iranian “Shahed” drones over the past seven days.

Zelenskyy underscored the pivotal role of interceptor drones and thanked all partners who have invested in strengthening Ukraine’s skies, stressing that neutralizing this threat is essential to bringing diplomacy into motion sooner.

Zelenskyy also called on the United States, Europe, the G7 and all allies to fulfill defense agreements that will further bolster Ukraine’s protection.

Looking ahead, Zelenskyy expressed hope for the implementation of all defense agreements and “strong decisions” from global allies to ensure Ukraine’s continued resilience.

Meanwhile, Germany’s “drone killer” system Skynex was deployed overnight to down seven Russian “Shahed” attack drones in a single operation.

The success highlighted Ukraine’s growing capacity to counter massed drone swarms through advanced interceptor technology.
