Currently, Russia is using approximately ten times more Shaheds than last fall, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said during a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff on Monday, November 4.

According to Zelenskyy, Acting Commander of the Air Force Anatolii Kryvonozhko reported on countering Russian air attacks, strengthening air defense, finding new solutions for protection against guided aerial bombs, and reinforcing mobile fire units.

President Zelenskyy also received reports on Ukrainian production of ammunition, weapons, equipment, drones, and electronic warfare systems, as well as contracts for this and next year.

“We reviewed 3-5 year contracts proposed to Ukrainian strategic-level drone manufacturers. A long-term horizon for planning, development, and investment is needed for manufacturers,” Zelenskyy noted.

On November 3, it was reported that in just one week, Russian forces had used over 900 bombs, around 30 missiles, and nearly 500 Shahed-type strike Unmanned aerial vehicles against Ukraine.

Previously, it was reported that the United States Department of State has funded 800 mobile air defense units for Ukraine’s Defense Forces in 2024, according to a statement by US Ambassador to Ukraine, Bridget Brink.
