Zelenskyy: Ukraine Can Build 8 Million Drones a Year, But 40% Lacks Funding

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine has the capacity to produce up to 8 million drones of various types annually, but current funding only covers a fraction of that potential.
He made the remarks during the Defense Industries Forum held in the Netherlands.
“Our defense industry’s potential now exceeds $44 billion, covering around 100,000 products — from artillery and traditional armored vehicles to advanced drones of all types and guided missiles. However, 40% of this potential lacks adequate funding. This is a serious challenge,” the President said.
Zelenskyy noted that, despite the manufacturing capacity, Ukraine currently has funding for significantly fewer drones than it is capable of producing.

Meanwhile, Russia, he said, is not only relying on its oil revenues but also drawing on resources from allied regimes like Iran and North Korea, as well as exploiting corrupt schemes in other countries to sustain its military production.
“That’s why our solidarity and unity remain the best response to Russia’s expansive military network,” Zelenskyy concluded.
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy cautioned that Vladimir Putin could significantly expand Russia’s military capabilities by 2030.
He also criticized NATO’s current defense spending plans as progressing “very slowly,” urging the Alliance to accelerate its efforts as the war against Ukraine reaches a critical stage.
