Russia Strikes Cabinet of Ministers Building in Kyiv — Here’s the Look Inside

For the first time since the start of the full-scale invasion, Russia has carried out a direct strike on Ukraine’s government quarter, hitting the Cabinet of Ministers building and destroying part of its upper floors.
On the morning of September 7, Russia launched 805 drones and 13 missiles against Ukrainian cities. Some of them struck Kyiv, including the government district where the Presidential Office, Ukrainian Parliament, and Cabinet of Ministers are located. It was the latter — a landmark structure built in 1938 — that sustained heavy damage. The UNITED24 Media team visited the site of the impact.

A massive hole gaped in the roof where the strike hit. Windows all around were shattered, and part of the facade wall had collapsed.

The impact sparked a major fire, forcing rescuers to work at dangerous heights to extinguish the blaze and clear the rubble. Firefighting helicopters were also deployed.

The offices were completely destroyed. Only bare walls remained, everything else was burned out and flooded with water.

The rescue team escorting the journalists repeatedly warned: “Watch your step, glass and nails are everywhere.” Hot water was dripping from the ceiling, and the acrid smell of smoke lingered in the walls.

The Cabinet of Ministers is the permanent workspace of Ukrainian ministers and Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko. Russia has now made it clear it is ready to strike indiscriminately at any target.
