“A Few Arrived. But We Need More”: Zelenskyy Confirms Ukraine Received Patriot Missiles

Ukraine has received additional missiles for Patriot air defense systems, several Crotale systems with accompanying missiles, and AIM missiles as part of new agreements with international partners, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said during a meeting with Estonian President Alar Karis in Kyiv.
The agreements were reached during the Coalition of the Willing summit in Kyiv and are aimed at strengthening Ukraine’s ability to defend its airspace against Russian attacks, as reported by RBC-Ukraine correspondent on August 25.

“We received—I won’t say from which country—confirmation of the transfer of several Crotale air defense systems and missiles for them. And we also received AIM missiles. These are very important missiles for us; we use them to shoot down enemy missiles,” Zelenskyy said.
The Ukrainian president also confirmed that the country had received an additional batch of missiles for US-made Patriot air defense systems, although he did not disclose either the supplier or the number delivered.
“And, to be honest, I also won’t say from which country, but a few more missiles for Patriot have arrived. I can’t say how many, but a few. We need more,” Zelenskyy said.

The additional air defense supplies come as Ukraine continues to seek more interceptors and systems from its partners to protect cities and critical infrastructure from Russian missile and drone attacks.
Beyond strengthening Ukraine’s air defenses, the Coalition of the Willing summit also resulted in new targeted assistance packages for individual Ukrainian regions and key sectors of the economy.
“We received [support] from Belgium, from Denmark—they are focused on the Mykolaiv direction. Estonia supports Zhytomyr,” Zelenskyy said.
According to the president, coalition members also agreed to support several projects for Ukrainian veterans. Belgium and Germany separately announced energy assistance packages intended to strengthen Ukraine’s energy sector.
Sweden, meanwhile, will provide a significant financial package to support the production of Ukrainian drones, Zelenskyy said.
The new Patriot deliveries come amid broader concerns over the availability of interceptors among Ukraine’s European partners. European countries have struggled to identify sufficient stocks as Kyiv prepares for the possibility of intensified Russian strikes during the winter.
Ukraine is seeking hundreds of PAC-2 and PAC-3 interceptors, but limited inventories among its partners have complicated efforts to secure the quantities required.
