Daily Update: Russia Loses 1,210 Troops, 5 Air Defense Systems, and 55 Artillery Systems

Russian forces lost an estimated 1,210 troops, two tanks, and five air defense systems over the past 24 hours, Ukraine’s General Staff reported on August 18.

The latest figures bring Russia’s total estimated personnel losses since the start of its full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, to approximately 1,469,970.

According to the General Staff, Russian forces also lost seven armored combat vehicles, 55 artillery systems, three multiple launch rocket systems, 19 UGVs, and 1,962 operational-tactical UAVs during the reporting period.

Ukraine additionally reported the destruction of 443 vehicles and fuel tankers and seven pieces of special equipment.

Russia’s cumulative equipment losses are now estimated at 12,274 tanks, 25,162 armored combat vehicles, 48,155 artillery systems, 2,040 multiple launch rocket systems, 1,577 air defense systems, 439 aircraft, 354 helicopters, 2,292 UGVs, 467,459 operational-tactical UAVs, 5,010 cruise missiles, 35 ships and boats, two submarines, 135,891 vehicles and fuel tankers, and 4,547 pieces of special equipment.

Ukraine’s General Staff recorded 244 combat engagements between Ukrainian and Russian forces across the front over the past 24 hours.

Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported that Ukraine’s Armed Forces are inflicting losses on Russia worth several times more than the cost of the weapons used to cause them.

According to Mission Control data for June, every $1 Ukraine spent on engaging Russian targets produced approximately $5 in estimated losses for Russia.
