Daily Update: Russia Loses 1,230 Troops, 2 MLRS and 48 Artillery Systems

Russian forces lost an estimated 1,230 personnel over the previous 24 hours, bringing their total personnel losses since the start of the full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, to approximately 1,479,300, Ukraine’s General Staff reported on August 25.

Over the same period, Ukrainian forces destroyed 48 Russian artillery systems, 9 armored combat vehicles, two multiple launch rocket systems, one air defense system, 10 unmanned ground vehicles, and 1,555 operational-tactical drones.

The General Staff also reported the destruction of 448 vehicles and fuel tankers, and seven pieces of special equipment.

According to Ukraine’s latest estimates, Russia’s cumulative equipment losses include 12,293 tanks, 25,220 armored combat vehicles, 48,567 artillery systems, 2,058 multiple launch rocket systems, 1,587 air defense systems, 440 aircraft, and 354 helicopters.

Russia has also lost 2,378 unmanned ground vehicles, 479,882 operational-tactical UAVs, 5,052 cruise missiles, 35 ships and boats, two submarines, 139,221 vehicles and fuel tankers, and 4,582 pieces of special equipment.

Meanwhile, Ukraine’s General Staff reported 209 combat engagements across the frontline during the previous 24 hours.

The latest battlefield losses come as Ukrainian forces continue targeting Russian communications equipment along the front. On August 24, Ukraine’s 1st Separate Assault Brigade named after Dmytro Kotsiubailo reported destroying a rare Spirit-030 portable satellite internet terminal on the Huliaipole front.

Russian forces use the Spirit-030 satellite communications terminal as an alternative to Starlink. Its compact antenna measures just 30 centimeters (12 inches) in diameter, making the system relatively difficult to detect on the battlefield.
