Daily Update: Russia Loses 1,400 Troops, 4 Tanks, and 53 Artillery Systems in One Day

Russia lost an estimated 1,400 troops, 53 artillery systems and several armored vehicles over the past 24 hours, Ukraine’s General Staff reported on August 27.

According to the latest Ukrainian military figures, Russia’s total personnel losses since the start of its full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, have reached approximately 1,482,150.

Russian forces also lost four tanks and seven armored combat vehicles over the past day, bringing their estimated cumulative losses to 12,304 tanks and 25,237 armored combat vehicles.

Total Russian artillery losses have reached 48,694 systems after another 53 were recorded over the latest reporting period. Ukraine also reported the destruction of three multiple-launch rocket systems and two air defense systems, bringing those totals to 2,065 and 1,590, respectively.

Russia’s estimated aviation losses remain at 440 aircraft and 354 helicopters.

The General Staff also reported that Russia lost 17 unmanned ground systems over the past day, raising the cumulative figure to 2,404. Another 1,762 operational-tactical UAVs were recorded as lost, bringing Russia’s total in that category to 483,367.

Russia’s other estimated losses stand at 5,052 cruise missiles, 35 ships and boats, two submarines, 140,248 vehicles and fuel tankers, and 4,602 pieces of special equipment.

Over the latest 24-hour period alone, Russian forces lost another 494 vehicles and fuel tankers and 10 pieces of special equipment, according to the General Staff.

Previously, reports emerged that several damaged vessels belonging to Russia’s Black Sea Fleet have been spotted sheltering in bays around temporarily occupied Sevastopol, including a damaged missile boat concealed beneath camouflage netting.
