Daily Update: Russia Loses 1,400 Troops, 41 Artillery Systems and 1,839 UAVs in One Day

Ukraine’s General Staff estimated that Russian forces lost around 1,400 personnel during the latest 24-hour reporting period, as well as 41 artillery systems and 1,839 operational-tactical UAVs.

As of September 15, Russia’s total personnel losses since launching its full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, had risen to approximately 1,510,000.

The latest figures also showed the loss of three armored combat vehicles, raising the cumulative total to 25,334. The number of Russian tanks recorded as lost remained unchanged at 12,345.

Russian forces also lost an estimated 41 artillery systems, four multiple-launch rocket systems (MLRS), and one air defense system over the past day. These losses brought the overall figures to 49,793 artillery systems, 2,131 MLRS, and 1,638 air defense systems.

The estimated number of Russian aircraft and helicopters lost since the beginning of the full-scale invasion remained at 442 and 356, respectively.

Drone losses continued to account for a substantial share of the daily tally. The General Staff recorded another 1,839 operational-tactical UAVs, increasing the cumulative figure to 518,280. Eleven unmanned ground vehicles were also reported lost, bringing their total to 2,626, while cruise missile losses remained unchanged at 5,111.

In addition, Russia lost an estimated 376 vehicles and fuel tankers and seven pieces of special equipment during the latest reporting period. Their cumulative losses now stand at 149,183 and 4,690, respectively. Naval losses remained unchanged at 35 ships and boats and two submarines.

Meanwhile, combat operations remained intense across the frontline, with Ukrainian forces reporting 262 clashes during the latest reporting period.

The latest figures come amid continued Ukrainian strikes on Russian military equipment. In one recent operation, a Ukrainian drone crew destroyed two Russian BM-21 Grad multiple rocket launchers and damaged two others, with one of the drones traveling 45 kilometers before striking its target.
