Daily Update: Russia Loses 1,400 Troops, 59 Artillery Systems in One Day

Russia lost an estimated 1,400 troops and 59 artillery systems over the past 24 hours, Ukraine’s General Staff reported on August 30.

According to the latest Ukrainian military report, Russia’s total personnel losses since the start of its full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, have reached approximately 1,486,600.

Russian forces also lost one tank and seven armored combat vehicles over the latest reporting period, bringing their estimated cumulative losses to 12,311 tanks and 25,248 armored combat vehicles.

Russia’s total artillery losses have reached 48,833 systems after another 59 were recorded over the past day. Ukraine also reported the loss of two Russian multiple-launch rocket systems and one air defense system, bringing the respective totals to 2,072 and 1,594.

Estimated Russian aviation losses remain at 440 aircraft and 354 helicopters.

The General Staff also reported six unmanned ground systems lost over the past day, raising Russia’s cumulative losses in that category to 2,435.

Another 1,963 operational-tactical UAVs were recorded as lost during the latest 24-hour period, bringing the total to 488,347.

Russia’s other estimated losses stand at 5,060 cruise missiles, 35 ships and boats, two submarines, 141,453 vehicles and fuel tankers, and 4,614 pieces of special equipment.

Over the past day alone, Russian forces lost another 394 vehicles and fuel tankers and six pieces of special equipment, according to the General Staff.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian and Russian forces clashed 221 times across the front over the previous day. The heaviest Russian offensive activity was recorded in the Kostiantynivka and Pokrovsk sectors.

Earlier, reports emerged that Russia was losing roughly 6,000 more troops each month in Ukraine than it can recruit. Monthly casualties have exceeded its recruitment rate of about 1,000 people per day over the past two months.
