Daily Update: Russia Loses 1,450 Troops, 74 Artillery Systems in One Day

Russia lost an estimated 1,450 troops and 74 artillery systems over the past 24 hours, Ukraine’s General Staff reported on August 26.

According to the latest Ukrainian military figures, Russia’s total personnel losses since the start of its full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, have reached approximately 1,480,750.

Russia’s overall equipment losses are estimated at 12,300 tanks, including seven over the past day; 25,230 armored combat vehicles, including 10 in 24 hours; and 48,641 artillery systems, with 74 newly recorded losses.

The General Staff also reported that Russia has lost 2,062 multiple-launch rocket systems, including four over the past day, as well as 1,588 air defense systems, 440 aircraft and 354 helicopters.

Russian forces have additionally lost an estimated 2,387 unmanned ground systems, including nine over the past day, and 481,605 operational-tactical UAVs, with another 1,723 recorded as lost in the latest reporting period.

Ukraine puts Russia’s other cumulative losses at 5,052 cruise missiles, 35 ships and boats, two submarines, 139,754 vehicles and fuel tankers, and 4,592 pieces of special equipment. Over the previous 24 hours, Russia lost another 533 vehicles and fuel tankers and 10 pieces of special equipment.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian and Russian forces clashed 203 times across the front over the past day, according to the General Staff.

Earlier, reports emerged that Ukraine’s Armed Forces are inflicting losses on Russia worth several times more than the cost of the weapons used to cause them, according to data tracked by the Mission Control module of Ukraine’s DELTA battlefield management system.

According to Mission Control data for June, every $1 Ukraine spent on engaging Russian targets produced approximately $5 in estimated losses for Russia.
