Daily Update: Russia Loses 1,470 Troops, 10 Tanks, and 1 Warship in One Day

Russian forces sustained an additional 1,470 personnel casualties over the past 24 hours, while Ukraine's military reported the destruction of 10 tanks, six armored combat vehicles, and 42 artillery systems, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on July 15.

The General Staff estimated Russia's total personnel losses since the start of its full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, at 1,423,280 troops killed or wounded.

The latest daily update also said Ukrainian forces destroyed five multiple launch rocket systems, one air defense system, two ground robotic platforms, 2,003 operational-tactical drones, seven cruise missiles, 445 military vehicles and fuel tankers, four units of special equipment, and 1 ship.

According to the Ukrainian military's cumulative estimates, Russia has now lost 12,141 tanks, 24,938 armored combat vehicles, 45,953 artillery systems, 1,936 multiple launch rocket systems, 1,492 air defense systems, 437 aircraft, 353 helicopters, 1,907 ground robotic systems, 409,204 operational-tactical UAVs, 4,906 cruise missiles, 34 warships and boats, two submarines, 120,307 military vehicles and fuel tankers, and 4,420 pieces of special equipment.

Ukraine's General Staff also reported that 253 combat engagements took place along the front line during the reporting period.

Separately, Ukraine's Defense Forces carried out 697 deep-strike operations against targets inside Russia during the first half of 2026. According to Ukraine's military command, those operations inflicted an estimated $6.1 billion or more in direct and indirect economic losses.

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi also said Russia is losing more than 400 troops for every square kilometer of territory it captures in Ukraine's eastern Donetsk region.
