Daily Update: Russia Loses 1,500 Troops, 85 Artillery Systems and Aircraft in One Day

Russia lost an estimated 1,500 troops, 85 artillery systems and one aircraft over the past 24 hours, Ukraine’s General Staff reported on September 12.

According to the latest Ukrainian military figures, Russia’s total personnel losses since the start of its full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, have reached approximately 1,505,380.

Russian forces also lost one tank and 10 armored combat vehicles during the latest reporting period, bringing cumulative losses to 12,342 tanks and 25,322 armored combat vehicles.

Artillery losses rose to 49,601 systems after another 85 were recorded over the past day. Ukraine also reported six Russian multiple-launch rocket systems and 11 air defense systems lost, raising their respective totals to 2,115 and 1,633.

Russia’s estimated aircraft losses increased to 442 after one additional aircraft was confirmed as lost during a previous period. Helicopter losses remained unchanged at 356.

Ukraine also reported 13 Russian unmanned ground vehicles lost over the past 24 hours, bringing the cumulative total in that category to 2,586. Another 2,045 operational-tactical UAVs were recorded as lost, raising the overall figure to 512,175, while cruise missile losses remained unchanged at 5,103.

Russian forces also lost another 638 vehicles and fuel tankers and 10 pieces of special equipment, bringing those cumulative totals to 147,849 and 4,676. Russia’s estimated naval losses remained at 35 ships and boats and two submarines.

Fighting across the front remained intense, with Ukrainian forces recording 237 combat engagements during the latest reporting period. The heaviest Russian assault activity was reported in the Pokrovsk and Kostiantynivka sectors, where Russian forces carried out 29 and 22 attacks, respectively.

Earlier, Ukrainian strike drones hit the Saratov oil refinery and an Ozon logistics hub in Russia’s Saratov region, sparking fires at both facilities. Fire Point said its FP-1 long-range drones were used in the strike on the Ozon site.
