Daily Update: Russia Loses 1,530 Troops, 27 Artillery Systems and 789 UAVs in One Day

Ukraine’s General Staff reported that Russian forces lost around 1,530 personnel over the latest 24-hour period, as well as 27 artillery systems and 789 operational-tactical UAVs.

As of September 16, Russia’s cumulative personnel losses since the start of its full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, stood at approximately 1,511,530.

The latest daily tally also included five armored combat vehicles, bringing the overall number lost to 25,339. Russia’s recorded tank losses remained unchanged at 12,345.

Over the same period, Russian forces lost 27 artillery systems, one multiple-launch rocket system (MLRS), and four air defense systems. The cumulative totals in these categories rose to 49,820 artillery systems, 2,132 MLRS, and 1,642 air defense systems.

Russia’s recorded losses of aircraft and helicopters remained at 442 and 356, respectively.

The General Staff also reported the loss of 789 operational-tactical UAVs over the past day, bringing the total to 519,069. Four unmanned ground vehicles were lost, increasing the cumulative figure to 2,630, while the number of cruise missiles remained unchanged at 5,111.

Another 374 vehicles and fuel tankers and two pieces of special equipment were recorded as lost, bringing the respective totals to 149,557 and 4,692. Russia’s naval losses remained unchanged at 35 ships and boats and two submarines.

Meanwhile, fighting remained heavy along the frontline, with Ukrainian forces recording 278 combat engagements during the latest reporting period.

Ukrainian forces targeted a Russian Nebo-M long-range radar near the Millerovo airfield in Russia’s Rostov region, Ukraine’s 429th Achilles Unmanned Systems Brigade reported on September 15.

The strike was conducted jointly by the 429th Achilles Brigade and the 43rd Separate Artillery Brigade using a RAM-2X drone, which hit the radar approximately 175 kilometers from the line of contact.
