German Defense Minister Accidentally Reveals Advanced RCH-155 Howitzers Are Already in Ukraine

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius inadvertently disclosed that Germany’s highly advanced RCH-155 wheeled self-propelled howitzers have already been delivered to Ukraine, Bild reported on August 4.

Speaking during a visit to the KNDS defense manufacturing facility in Kassel, Pistorius remarked that the system “is meeting with great approval in Ukraine,” marking the first high-level indication that the long-promised artillery pieces are already inside the country.

Pistorius added that the site where attendees were standing was where the first howitzer sent to Ukraine had been located roughly two years ago, effectively confirming the transfer despite no prior official announcement, Bild wrote.

The arrival of the RCH-155 represents a major technological advancement for Ukrainian frontline operations. Considered one of the world’s most sophisticated artillery systems, the RCH-155 is the first howitzer capable of firing while in motion and driving at speeds reaching over 100 km/h.

German support for Ukraine also extends to critical frontline medical infrastructure, with Berlin recently procuring 149 mobile medical stations modeled after units already deployed by Ukrainian combat medics.
