With pinpoint accuracy and rapid strikes, the American-made howitzer is reshaping the battlefield—wielded by Ukraine’s 93rd Kholodnyi Yar Mechanized Brigade.

The 93rd Brigade is turning the M109 Paladin self-propelled howitzer into one of the most effective tools against Russian forces. Provided by Ukraine’s international partners, this powerful artillery system delivers deadly precision, mobility, and range.

The M109 Paladin is a 155mm self-propelled howitzer capable of hitting targets up to 30 kilometers away. Its automated targeting system allows crews to fire quickly and reposition just as fast, minimizing the risk of enemy counter-battery strikes.

Built on a tracked chassis, the Paladin also handles rough terrain with ease — maintaining speed and agility where other systems might struggle. This gives Ukrainian crews the flexibility to strike and pull back before the Russians can fire back.

Artillery crews from the 93rd Brigade have already proven the system’s effectiveness, delivering precision strikes under tough conditions — from poor visibility to rugged landscapes.

With its advanced fire control system, the Paladin can fire multiple shells in rapid succession — all landing on the target at nearly the same moment. This multiple-round simultaneous-impact (MRSI) mode massively increases the system’s lethality, especially in dynamic combat situations.

To fully master the Paladin, Ukrainian gunners undergo intensive training, practicing rapid-fire missions and precision strikes under various conditions.

The 93rd Brigade’s use of the M109 Paladin is another example of how modern Western artillery is helping Ukraine hold the line — and hit back hard. With its speed, firepower, and accuracy, the Paladin strengthens Ukraine’s defenses and brings victory closer with every shot.
