HUR released footage of the operation on Telegram. The strike was carried out by operators from the department, though the agency did not specify the type of aircraft targeted.

The extent of the damage to the Russian aircraft is still being assessed, the intelligence agency said.

“A gift for Ukraine’s Military Intelligence Day. Crimea has already appreciated it!” the department stated.

Media reports indicate the strike may have targeted a Russian Su-24 aircraft.

The operation follows a series of recent Ukrainian strikes against Russian military assets and logistics in occupied Crimea. Earlier, HUR targeted a Russian Bastion coastal missile system, a platform capable of launching Zircon and Onyx missiles used by Russia in attacks against Ukraine.

HUR reported on September 4 that the strike was carried out by operators of its Group 13 special unit during an operation in August 2026. According to Ukrainian intelligence, the Bastion system was successfully hit, though the agency did not disclose the extent of the damage.

Ukrainian forces have also targeted Russian military logistics on the peninsula. On September 6 and overnight into September 7, Ukraine’s Defense Forces struck a railway bridge spanning the North Crimean Canal near Vladyslavivka in Russian-occupied Crimea.

Ukraine’s General Staff confirmed the strike on Telegram, saying the bridge served as a key route for Russian military logistics.
