More Than 400 Drones Reportedly Targeted Moscow as Oil Depot and Mega-Warehouses Burned

Ukrainian strike drones reportedly hit an oil depot and four major logistics facilities near Moscow overnight, igniting at least five fires across the region, Russian media outlet Astra reported on July 20.
One of the strikes targeted a small oil depot in Podolsk, approximately 46 kilometers south of Moscow. The facility contains 10 storage tanks with a combined capacity of 19,400 cubic meters.

NASA’s FIRMS fire-monitoring system detected an abnormal heat signature at the site at around 4:05 a.m., supporting reports of a fire following the attack.

The overnight strikes also reportedly damaged major logistics facilities used by Russian e-commerce companies, including two large Wildberries warehouses.
One of the affected sites was the company’s Kolendino complex, described as Wildberries’ largest sorting center. The facility covers more than 225,000 square meters, and footage from the scene showed a large fire spreading through the area.

Another strike hit the Yuzhnye Vorota logistics park near Belye Stolby. NASA FIRMS also detected a thermal anomaly there at approximately 4:05 a.m.
The complex is used by major companies including Wildberries, Yandex Market, Alibaba Group, Decathlon/Desport, and Grass. Available photos and videos appeared to show several warehouse buildings damaged and fires continuing at the site.

The Grivno logistics park in Podolsk district was also reportedly hit. The complex, which covers more than 133,000 square meters and is used by Russian e-commerce company Ozon, is located about 25 kilometers from Moscow’s main ring road.
Officials in the Moscow region claimed that more than 400 drones flew toward the region during the night of July 20.

Previous attacks on the Russian e-commerce giants included Ukrainian long-range drones striking multiple logistics centers operated by Russia’s largest online marketplace, Wildberries, in the Moscow and Tambov regions.
Recently, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin claimed that Russia’s Moscow region was targeted by 1,892 Ukrainian drones between July 11 and July 18. He added that Russian air defenses reportedly intercepted the majority of them before they reached the capital.
