Russia’s Moscow region was targeted by 1,892 Ukrainian drones between July 11 and July 18, according to Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, who said Russian air defenses intercepted the majority of them before they reached the capital.

Sobyanin published the figures on his official Telegram channel on July 18, claiming that 207 drones were destroyed on approach to Moscow itself, while the rest were intercepted farther from the city.

According to Sergei Sobyanin, Russian air defense systems engaged Ukrainian drones throughout the week, with most reportedly intercepted on the outer approaches to the Moscow region. The figures have not been independently verified.

The statement came after another overnight Ukrainian long-range drone strike on July 18 that targeted multiple facilities in the Moscow region.

Among the reported targets was a major Wildberries logistics center in Elektrostal. Ukrainian officials said the facility was struck during an operation conducted by the Unmanned Systems Forces' 1st Center. Images and videos circulating online showed a large fire at the warehouse complex, with smoke remaining visible hours after the attack.

The Elektrostal distribution center is considered one of Wildberries' largest logistics hubs and one of the company’s busiest order-processing facilities.

The same wave of strikes also hit an oil storage facility in Noginsk, east of Moscow. According to publicly available information, the depot contains 24 fuel storage tanks with a combined capacity of approximately 11,500 cubic meters.

The facility serves as a regional hub for storing, transferring, and distributing gasoline, diesel fuel, and kerosene to fuel suppliers and traders across the Moscow region.

Ukraine has increasingly expanded its long-range drone campaign against military, industrial, and logistics infrastructure deep inside Russia. Recent strikes have targeted oil depots, defense-related facilities, logistics centers, and infrastructure supporting Russia’s war effort, including several sites in the Moscow region. Russian officials regularly report the number of drones intercepted during such attacks.
