Ukrainian paratroopers destroyed 114 Russian military shelters in the Kupiansk sector, disrupting logistics and making it more difficult for Russian forces to concentrate infantry for further assaults.

The 77th Separate Airmobile Naddniprianska Brigade reported the results on August 31, releasing footage of drone strikes carried out in its area of responsibility. The operation involved the unmanned systems company of the brigade’s 3rd Airmobile Battalion, part of Ukraine’s 7th Rapid Response Corps of the Air Assault Forces.

According to the brigade, Ukrainian drone operators systematically targeted Russian dugouts, fortified positions, and other engineering structures used to shelter troops near the front line.

“The main result of the combat operation was the destruction of 114 enemy shelters. The loss of such a number of prepared positions disrupts the occupiers’ logistics and significantly complicates the covert concentration of infantry,” the brigade said.

The unit added that strikes against Russian fortifications force troops to move more frequently between positions, increasing their exposure to Ukrainian reconnaissance and attack drones.

“Strikes on fortifications force the enemy to constantly relocate, which significantly reduces its offensive potential,” the brigade said.

The Kupiansk sector in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region remains an active area of Russian offensive operations. Russian forces have repeatedly attempted to advance and establish positions around the city and nearby settlements, while Ukrainian units have increasingly relied on reconnaissance and FPV drones to target personnel, equipment, logistics routes, and fortified positions.

Ukrainian forces have recently made gains in the Kharkiv region. According to the Institute for the Study of War on August 26, geolocated footage showed Ukrainian troops advancing southwest of Dvorichna, north of Kupiansk, amid continued counterattacks in the area.
