Agents of the pro-Ukrainian ATESH partisan movement destroyed a communications tower used to support Russian drone operations in the Oryol region, disrupting control links and forcing UAV crews to adjust their positions, the group reported on September 10.

The tower was located near the settlement of Zhudersky and was used by Russian forces to host radio repeaters that extended and stabilized communications with drones operating in the area, according to ATESH.

By disabling the equipment, the partisans said they reduced the effective range of Russian drone operations and disrupted the stability of UAV communication and control channels.

Russian operators were consequently forced to search for alternative locations and reconfigure radio frequencies, creating delays in ongoing missions, the group said.

Rather than targeting individual drones, the operation struck the communications infrastructure needed to keep them connected to their operators.

Atesh said repeated sabotage against such support networks can interfere with the coordination of Russian unmanned systems while forcing military units to divert personnel and resources toward repairs, troubleshooting, and rebuilding communications coverage.

Previously, the ATESH said its agents targeted three communications towers used by Russian forces on the Kursk axis, disrupting military command and communications in the area.
