According to ATESH on August 18, the towers were destroyed near Darino, Malaya Loknya, and Sverdlikovo. The facilities supported secure information channels and connected command posts of Russian units operating in the area.

The simultaneous loss of several elements of the communications network reportedly disrupted the exchange of operational information and the transmission of orders between Russian units.

ATESH said the disruption particularly affected coordination between Russia’s 83rd Separate Guards Air Assault Brigade and the 1443rd Motorized Rifle Brigade. Communication between the units, coordination of their actions, and their ability to respond to changes on the battlefield were hindered.

According to the partisan movement, Russian commanders have been forced to seek temporary alternatives to restore communications. However, ATESH said the disruption has slowed Russian operations and reduced the ability of units in the area to coordinate their actions.

The reported sabotage comes amid broader attacks on Russian military and defense-related infrastructure. Overnight on August 19, a major drone attack targeted Dzerzhinsk in Russia’s Nizhny Novgorod region, where preliminary open-source analysis indicated that a large column of smoke rising over the city likely originated from the Sverdlov defense-chemical plant.

The facility is located approximately five kilometers (three miles) from an apartment building that was earlier reported to have sustained drone-related damage.
