Russia Loses 840 Troops, Two Air Defense Systems and 75 Artillery Pieces in One Day

Russian forces lost 840 troops, two air defense systems, and 75 artillery systems over the past 24 hours, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on May 10.

According to the Ukrainian military, a total of 147 combat engagements took place along the front line during the same period, as fighting continued across multiple sectors.

The latest figures bring Russia’s estimated total losses since the start of the full-scale invasion in February 2022 to approximately 1,341,110 personnel.

Ukraine’s General Staff also reported the destruction of three armored combat vehicles, two multiple launch rocket systems, 11 ground robotic systems, and 1,489 operational-tactical drones.

Russian forces additionally lost 227 military vehicles and fuel tankers, as well as three units of special equipment over the past day, according to the update.

The cumulative Russian equipment losses reported by Ukraine now include 11,920 tanks, 24,544 armored fighting vehicles, 41,787 artillery systems, 1,782 multiple launch rocket systems, and 1,373 air defense systems.

Ukraine also estimates that Russia has lost 435 aircraft, 352 helicopters, 33 ships and boats, two submarines, 282,697 drones, and 4,585 cruise missiles since February 2022.

According to the General Staff, Russian forces deployed 7,704 attack drones and carried out 2,021 strikes on Ukrainian positions and populated areas over the past day, including 12 attacks using multiple launch rocket systems.

Ukraine’s missile troops and artillery reportedly struck six Russian artillery systems during the same period.

The heaviest fighting was recorded in the Pokrovsk, Huliaipole, and Kostiantynivka sectors, where Russian forces continued offensive operations against Ukrainian defensive positions.

Earlier, Ukrainian drone operators from the National Guard unit Lasar’s Group destroyed a Russian 9T452 transport-loader vehicle for a BM-27 Uragan multiple launch rocket system in the Luhansk region, reportedly 30–40 kilometers behind the front line.
