Russian Drone Company Chief Shot Three Times Outside His Home in Tula

The head of a Russian company involved in UAV research was shot three times outside his home in Tula and hospitalized in critical condition, Russian media outlet Astra reported on July 29.
Andrey Cherezov, director and sole owner of the Russian Laboratory of Air Transport, reportedly returned home during the night and was ambushed by a gunman waiting near the entrance to his apartment.

Cherezov’s wife heard the shots, opened the door, and found her husband covered in blood. The attacker fled before authorities arrived, according to Russian media reports.
Cherezov was taken to a hospital in serious condition. Russia’s regional Investigative Committee opened a criminal case on suspicion of attempted murder.
The Russian Laboratory of Air Transport was registered in Tula in 2022 and lists scientific research and development in the natural and technical sciences as its primary activity.
According to Russian corporate records, the company reported revenue of 110 million rubles in 2023—approximately $1.43 million. Its net profit totaled roughly $87,100.
Earlier, a car bomb detonated in southern Moscow, killing a senior Russian military official. Russia’s Investigative Committee confirmed that the target of the attack—Lieutenant General Fanil Sarvarov—died from his injuries.
Over the course of his career, Sarvarov took part in combat operations in the North Caucasus, including the Ossetian-Ingush conflict and the Chechen war, and later served in Syria in 2015–2016.
