Russian Drone Targets Passenger Minibus in Kherson, Leaving Two Dead and Nine Wounded

A Russian drone struck a minibus in Kherson’s central district around 07:00 on July 1, killing two people and injuring at least nine others, according to regional authorities.

The head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, said the attack targeted public transport during the morning hours.

He later added that the identities of the two killed individuals were being established following the drone strike on the minibus in the Central district of Kherson.

Among the victims was an 18-year-old girl who was killed in front of her mother while travelling to complete documents for university admission.

Local authorities said the drone operator deliberately directed the unmanned aerial vehicle toward the passenger minibus, striking the section where civilians were seated. Two civilians were killed in the attack.

Nine other people sustained blast-related injuries and multiple shrapnel wounds. Among the injured are two medical workers.

Six of the wounded were hospitalised. One woman sustained severe injuries, underwent surgery, and her condition has since been stabilised. She remains in intensive care.

In a separate attack in Dnipropetrovsk region, Russian forces struck five fuel stations. A woman was killed and three other people were injured in the attack.

Additionally, a woman was injured in Zaporizhzhia as a result of a Russian attack.

Overall, Russian forces launched 151 strike drones at Ukraine, along with an Iskander-M ballistic missile and an X-59 air-launched missile.

Ukraine’s air defense forces intercepted 130 drones and the X-59 missile. Seventeen drones struck targets at 16 locations, while debris was reported in four additional areas. Information regarding the Iskander missile is still being clarified.

During the previous attack on June 16, Russian forces carried out a series of drone strikes in Kherson, hitting a medical vehicle and a passenger minibus in the city’s Korabelnyi district.

According to the Kherson Regional Military Administration, one man was killed and at least six other people were injured in the attacks.
