Russian Oil Export Hub With 20M-Ton Capacity Burns After Ukrainian Drone Strike

Ukrainian drones struck the Tamanneftegaz oil and gas terminal at Russia’s Port Taman overnight, triggering a fire at one of the country’s major oil export facilities.

NASA FIRMS satellite fire data and images published by the OSINT community Exilenova+ indicated a significant blaze at the complex in Volna, Krasnodar region, on July 30.

Oil and petroleum storage tanks were likely hit during the attack, although the full extent of the damage has not yet been confirmed.

The Tamanneftegaz terminal plays an important role in Russia’s oil export network. Operated by the OTEKO group, it is the largest privately owned oil-loading complex in southern Russia.

The facility can handle approximately 19.9 million metric tons of cargo annually.

Its storage complex holds more than one million cubic meters of petroleum products and liquefied gas, making it a major node for receiving, storing, and exporting Russian energy supplies.

Previously, Ukraine’s Security Service struck one of Russia’s largest oil refineries more than 1,500 kilometers, or 930 miles, from Ukraine, setting fire to a key crude-processing unit.
