Russian forces attempting to neutralize a Ukrainian drone inadvertently redirected it into their own ammunition depot, triggering a powerful explosion, Ukraine’s 42nd Separate Mechanized Brigade reported in footage released by the unit.

According to Ukrainian reconnaissance, Russian troops spotted the brigade’s drone and tried to bring it down. It remains unclear whether they successfully jammed the UAV or struck it with another weapon.

Either way, the result was disastrous for the Russian position: their intervention “corrected” the drone’s trajectory directly toward a building being used to store ammunition.

The drone crashed onto the roof, setting off a major secondary detonation and destroying another Russian logistics facility.

Earlier, Ukrainian Defense Forces carried out a coordinated overnight strike on a Russian underground logistics facility near Armyansk, close to temporarily occupied Crimea.

NASA FIRMS satellite data later detected a large thermal anomaly at the reported location, indicating a significant fire.
