Russia has lost more than 1,000 troops every day from June 1 to June 22, 2026, marking the first such streak since March 2025, according to Ukrainian outlet NV, which analyzed daily reports from Ukraine’s General Staff.

In almost every day of June, Ukrainian forces reported Russian personnel losses ranging from 1,130 to 1,550 troops. Only three days in the period showed losses slightly above 1,100.

The heaviest Russian losses so far this month were recorded on June 5, with 1,550 Russian soldiers killed or wounded. The same day, Ukraine brought home 185 service members from Russian captivity.

The lowest daily figure came on June 3, when Ukraine estimated Russian losses at 1,130 troops. That same day, Russian forces struck Kostiantynivka with banned phosphorus munitions.

The last time Russia’s reported daily personnel losses stayed above 1,000 for every day for about a month was in March 2025. Before that, the same pattern was recorded in February 2025.

From June 1 to June 22, Russia’s estimated personnel losses reached approximately 29,080 troops.

As of Monday, June 22, Ukraine’s General Staff estimated Russia’s total personnel losses since the start of the full-scale invasion at approximately 1,393,140 troops killed and wounded.

Earlier, NATO officials estimated that Russia has suffered between 1.3 and 1.45 million total casualties, including approximately 500,000 deaths, since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
