Russia’s Total Combat Losses Surpass 1.45 Million as Ukraine Reports Another 1,190 Troops Eliminated

Russian forces lost an estimated 1,190 troops over the past 24 hours, pushing Russia’s total personnel losses since the start of its full-scale invasion of Ukraine beyond 1.456 million, according to figures published by Ukraine’s General Staff on August 8.

The latest battlefield assessment estimates Russia’s cumulative personnel losses at approximately 1,456,610 troops since February 24, 2022.

According to the General Staff, Russian forces also lost four tanks, one armored combat vehicle, 58 artillery systems, one multiple launch rocket system, six air defense systems, 10 unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs), and 1,751 operational-tactical UAVs over the reporting period.

Ukraine additionally reported the destruction of one Russian ship, along with 349 vehicles and fuel tankers and two pieces of special equipment.

Russia’s cumulative equipment losses are now estimated at 12,251 tanks, 25,099 armored combat vehicles, 47,580 artillery systems, 2,009 multiple launch rocket systems, 1,556 air defense systems, 439 aircraft, 354 helicopters, 2,162 UGVs, 449,606 operational-tactical UAVs, 5,007 cruise missiles, 35 ships and boats, two submarines, 131,417 vehicles and fuel tankers, and 4,504 pieces of special equipment.

Ukraine’s General Staff also reported 223 combat engagements along the front line during the past day.

Russian forces launched one missile strike using two missiles and carried out 77 airstrikes, dropping 242 guided aerial bombs. They also deployed 10,837 attack drones and conducted 3,327 attacks on Ukrainian military positions and populated areas.

Over the same period, Ukrainian aircraft, missile forces, and artillery struck 15 Russian troop concentration areas and three UAV command posts, according to the General Staff.

Earlier, Ukrainian drone operators from the National Guard’s Lasar’s Group destroyed a fully loaded Russian BM-27 Uragan multiple launch rocket system before it could reach its firing position, triggering a massive secondary explosion that consumed the launcher.
