Ukraine’s Liutyi Drones Fly 1,700 Km to Hit Wildberries Hub Deep Inside Russia

Ukrainian long-range Liutyi strike drones hit a Wildberries logistics hub in Yekaterinburg, Russia’s Sverdlovsk region, after traveling more than 1,700 kilometers to reach the target.

Ukrainian defense outlet Militarnyi identified the facility by analyzing photographs and video published online following the attack on August 7.

Footage from the site showed several separate fires burning beneath the roof of the massive warehouse complex. Wildberries later confirmed that its logistics facility had been attacked and that a fire had broken out.

“Fire crews are working at the company’s logistics facility in Yekaterinburg, Sverdlovsk region, where a fire broke out as a result of the attack. The facility was evacuated in advance. Acceptance of current deliveries has been temporarily restricted, and they are being redirected to other facilities,” Wildberries said.

Videos from the scene showed employees gathered outside after evacuating the building.

Before the logistics hub was hit, Sverdlovsk regional governor Denis Pasler declared a drone threat across the region.

After reports of the fire emerged, Pasler claimed Russian air defenses had shot down eight drones while three others struck the facility.

The Ukrainian Liutyi drones traveled more than 1,700 kilometers, or roughly 1,056 miles, to reach Yekaterinburg, demonstrating the increasingly deep reach of Ukraine’s long-range strike capabilities into Russian territory.

Earlier, reports emerged that Ukrainian drone strikes targeting Russia’s primary e-commerce platform Wildberries have inflicted at least 100 billion rubles ($1.2 billion) in direct damages on the marketplace, threatening to plunge the company into years of unprofitability.
