Ukrainian Drones Strike One of Wildberries’ Largest Logistics Hubs in Russia’s Tula Region

One of Wildberries’ largest logistics centers in Russia caught fire overnight on August 5 after a Ukrainian long-range drone strike hit the facility in the Tula region. The warehouse, located in the city of Aleksin, serves as a major distribution hub for central Russia.

Wildberries confirmed that a fire broke out at its logistics complex following the attack, while Tula region Governor Dmitry Milyaev said the blaze began after the “fall of a UAV” on the company’s sorting center. The facility had been evacuated in advance, and incoming shipments were temporarily redirected to other logistics sites.

Analysis of publicly available videos and satellite fire detection data from NASA FIRMS identified the damaged facility as Wildberries' Aleksin logistics center, one of the marketplace’s largest distribution hubs. The complex, opened in 2022, covers approximately 194,500 square meters.

Videos shared online showed heavy flames engulfing large sections of the warehouse, while NASA FIRMS detected an extensive fire at the site following the strike.

The logistics center supplies the Tula, Kaluga, Oryol, Bryansk, Kursk, Lipetsk, and Ryazan regions, among others, and also helps relieve distribution pressure on Moscow-area logistics facilities.

The strike marks the latest in a series of Ukrainian drone attacks targeting Wildberries infrastructure across Russia.

Logistics centers linked to the company have previously been struck in the Moscow, Tambov, Ryazan, Samara, Vladimir, Volgograd, Leningrad, Penza, Perm, Krasnodar, Stavropol, and Sverdlovsk regions, as well as in temporarily occupied Simferopol.

Commander of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces Robert “Madyar” Brovdi previously said Ukrainian drones had attacked 15 Wildberries logistics facilities, making the Aleksin warehouse the 16th known logistics center targeted.

Ukraine has argued that Wildberries' logistics network has been used to transport sanctioned components and equipment supporting Russia’s defense industry, including parts for drones and navigation systems.

The strike comes days after Wildberries banned warehouse employees from bringing smartphones into logistics facilities, citing security concerns during air raid alerts. The restrictions followed a wave of Ukrainian drone strikes targeting the company’s distribution centers.
