Ukraine Destroys Russian Unmanned Attack Boats Equipped With Starlink Before Coastal Strike

Ukrainian Defense Forces intercepted and destroyed several Russian unmanned attack boats that attempted to strike Ukraine’s coastline early on June 23, according to Serhii Flash” Beskrestnov, an adviser to Ukraine’s Minister of Defense.
According to Beskrestnov, the attempted attack began at around 4:00 a.m., when Russian forces launched several unmanned surface vessels toward the Ukrainian coast.

“Today at 4 am, the enemy attempted to attack our coastline with several unmanned strike boats,” he said.
Beskrestnov stated that coordinated efforts by multiple units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces enabled the vessels to be detected and destroyed before they reached shore.
“As I mentioned earlier, the destroyed boats were equipped with Starlink, because the enemy has no other systems capable of controlling them over such long distances,” adviser to Ukraine’s Minister of Defense added.

Meanwhile, Commander of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces, Robert Brovdi, has said that Russia could develop its own battlefield alternative to the Starlink satellite communications system within a year.
In an interview with Ukrainska Pravda, Brovdi, known by the call sign “Madyar,” said Russian forces are already testing prototype systems designed to replicate Starlink-like battlefield communications capabilities.
