Zelenskyy described the operation as unique, saying the Novorossiysk base is Russia’s last major naval stronghold in the Black Sea and is located more than 300 kilometers from the frontline.
According to the Ukrainian president, the strike involved Palianytsia rocket drones, Neptune missiles, and maritime unmanned systems.
He added that hits on air defense positions, berths, and port infrastructure had been confirmed.
“The occupation fleet and all the infrastructure supporting it will not be safe as long as Russian aggression continues. The war must be stopped, and all reasonable proposals for diplomacy are on the table,” the Presidnet added.

Last month, a drone strike triggered a fire at the Grushova industrial tank farm near Russia’s Black Sea port of Novorossiysk overnight.
Residents said they heard roughly 50 explosions before thick smoke was seen rising above the oil storage facility.
The site forms part of the oil transshipment infrastructure connected to the Sheskharis terminal, operated by Chernomortransneft, and is located in the Grushova Balka area beyond the Markotkh Range, about 12 kilometers from Novorossiysk.
