Danish Museum Transmits BMP-1 Armor to Ukrainian Defense Forces

A Danish military museum, Panzermuseum East, transferred a batch of armored vehicles to the Ukrainian Defense Forces on August 7.
The delivery included a BMP-1 infantry fighting vehicle and an MT-LB tracked armored platform equipped as a SNAR-10 ground artillery reconnaissance station.

The SNAR-10 radar system can identify moving ground targets at distances up to 17 km and surface targets up to 30 km.
It can also detect ground artillery shell bursts at ranges between 4 and 10 km and surface bursts from 14 to 23 km.
Built on the versatile MT-LB tracked vehicle base, the Soviet-designed SNAR-10 radar system is primarily used to detect moving land or water targets and locate shell impacts to adjust artillery targeting.
It was the first vehicle in its category capable of identifying targets by analyzing the spectrum of a Doppler signal.
In February 2026, Denmark announced an additional $541 million in military assistance for Ukraine, which increased its total aid commitment for the year to $1.99 billion.
The newly allocated funding incorporated $85 million generated from the sale of F-16 fighter jets, raising Denmark’s planned defense spending to 3.5% of its gross domestic product.
Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen stated that supporting Ukraine directly contributed to the defense of Denmark and Europe, underscoring Denmark's role as a leading provider of military support relative to the size of its economy.
