Pro-Iranian propaganda channels are circulating disinformation claiming that Tehran has carried out strikes on targets inside Ukraine.

The video, widely shared online, including by a commentator affiliated with the Sprinter Press Agency on April 30, depict alleged attacks on what are described as “Ukrainian intelligence hubs.” The content suggests these sites were involved in operations against Iran’s supreme leader, Ali Khamenei.

The footage references three Ukrainian cities—Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Dnipro—where the supposed strikes allegedly took place. However, all visuals shown in the videos are generated using artificial intelligence.

Ukrainian defense media outlet Militarnyi suggests it may form part of an information and psychological operation aimed at exerting pressure on Ukraine and potentially discouraging its cooperation with Middle Eastern partners, particularly in countering Iranian threats.

The disinformation campaign comes amid continued political engagement between Moscow and Tehran.

Recently, Russian leader Vladimir Putin held talks with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in Saint Petersburg, where he expressed support for Iran and discussed regional stability.

During the meeting, Russia reiterated its readiness to act as a mediator in the Middle East following recent strikes by the United States and Israel on Iranian targets, which Moscow has condemned. The Kremlin has also proposed transferring Iran’s enriched uranium abroad as a means of easing tensions, though the United States has not accepted the idea.

“We see how courageously and heroically the people of Iran are fighting for their independence, for their sovereignty. And of course, we very much hope that, relying on this courage and desire for independence, the Iranian people will pass through this difficult period of trials under the leadership of the new leader and peace will come,” Putin said.

He added that Russia would do everything that serves Iran’s interests and those of the broader region in order to restore stability as quickly as possible.

At the same time, Iranian officials have urged young people to organize “human chains” around power plants nationwide after US President Donald Trump warned that Iran’s infrastructure could be targeted if Tehran does not reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

According to CNN, Iran’s Deputy Minister of Youth Affairs, Alireza Rahimi, announced a nationwide campaign calling on citizens to gather at energy sites as a symbolic show of protection.
