Dr. Greg Mills is the former director of the Brenthurst Foundation, a Johannesburg-based think tank focused on strengthening economic performance in Africa.
He has advised governments and heads of state across Africa on economic reform, development, peacebuilding, and security, and served four deployments to Afghanistan as an adviser to the British Army.
Mills is a member of the advisory board of the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) and has served on the African Development Bank’s high-level panel on fragile states.
He is the author and co-author of numerous books on development, governance, democracy, and security, including Why Africa Is Poor, Democracy Works, The Ledger: Accounting for Failure in Afghanistan, and Rich State, Poor State: Why Some States Succeed and Others Fail.
