Allies of Steel: UNITED24 and Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry Launch Fundraiser for Ground-Based Robots

UNITED24, the official fundraising platform launched by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, has initiated a new campaign to supply the military with ground-based robotic systems designed to operate in high-risk areas and save lives.
These unmanned platforms are built to perform critical tasks such as evacuating the wounded, delivering supplies, and conducting demining operations, without exposing personnel to enemy fire or drone strikes.
“Ukrainian diplomacy works every day to strengthen our defense,” said Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha. “Support for ground-based robotic systems is an investment in life-saving technologies. This fundraiser is a direct contribution to Ukraine’s defense capabilities.”
The campaign will raise funds for multiple robot types, including:
Evacuation robots, which extract wounded soldiers from the frontline;
Logistics platforms, used to deliver food, ammunition, and electronic warfare or surveillance equipment;
Demining systems, capable of detecting and neutralizing landmines and explosive traps.
According to manufacturers, traditional evacuation methods—such as using armored vehicles—are often ineffective near the front due to persistent drone attacks. Compact ground robots offer a safer alternative, being less visible and harder to destroy.
“There’s often no other option. Either we use a robot—or soldiers risk their lives doing it manually,” one developer noted.
Kyrylo Veres, Commander of Ukraine’s 20th Unmanned Systems Regiment, reported that ground robots were used in over 100 missions in June, evacuating six wounded service members.
“These systems won’t replace soldiers but can significantly reduce losses. Air and naval warfare have already been transformed by unmanned technologies. Now it’s time for ground robots,” Veres said.
Thanks to previous contributions from UNITED24 donors, 619 robotic platforms have already been delivered to Ukrainian units. Most are currently in active use on the frontlines.
