American aircraft manufacturer Boeing and the Ukrainian company Antonov have signed a preliminary agreement that could facilitate joint production of unmanned systems for Ukraine.
This was reported on Boeing's website.
The companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding to explore cooperation opportunities in defense projects.
“We’re pleased to continue working with the Antonov Company to support Ukraine development and economic growth,” said Ted Colbert, president and CEO of Boeing Defense, Space & Security. “This agreement demonstrates our ongoing efforts to find more opportunities to work with Ukrainian industry, which was underscored by our signing of the Ukrainian Defense Industry Compact earlier this year.”
Boeing emphasized that potential areas of cooperation outlined in the agreement include training, technical support, and capital repair services for tactical unmanned aerial systems used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, particularly the ScanEagle.
Additionally, the companies will explore opportunities for Antonov to provide engineering support to Boeing.
Yevhen Havrylov, General Director of Antonov, stated that this agreement could contribute to the further development of the Ukrainian defense industry.
"This agreement opens up an entirely new level of opportunities for implementing the latest and most effective solutions, in addition to potential future projects with Boeing in the aerospace and defense industries," he noted.
