Other manufacturers, such as Tekever and Malloy Aeronautics, will also provide a significant number of drones. The program is expected to support job creation in the UK while improving the defense of Ukraine.

Windracers stated that their involvement in this project highlights the increasing importance of heavy-lift, long-range autonomous drones in modern military operations.

The company's flagship drone, the ULTRA, has been used in Ukraine since 2023. Windracers has already sent a team of technical specialists to Ukraine and has plans to increase its presence within the country following Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

The ULTRA, which stands for Uncrewed Low Cost Transport, is a heavy logistics drone that has been utilized by the Armed Forces of Ukraine for several years to transport cargo over long distances.

The platform features a modular design and is capable of carrying large volumes of supplies and making precise deliveries at specific locations.

The drone can transport more than 150 kilograms of cargo over distances exceeding 1,000 kilometers, with an endurance of more than 10 hours. The ULTRA has an operating altitude of over 4,000 meters and is capable of short takeoff and landing, allowing it to operate from restricted areas.

The platform can be deployed for tactical use in minutes and is functional during the day, at night, and in conditions with limited visibility such as fog. The company also noted that the ULTRA can be upgraded to reach a range of 2,000 kilometers while significantly increasing its carrying capacity.

On April 15, 2026, the United Kingdom announced its largest drone package for Ukraine to date, pledging at least 120,000 drones for delivery throughout the year.

The package included thousands of strike, reconnaissance, and logistics drones that London described as battle-proven on the frontline.

During a meeting in Berlin, UK Defense Secretary John Healey stated that this expanded support would provide Ukrainian forces with more capacity to defend civilians and fight back against Russian aggression.
