British Intelligence Launches Investigation into Russian ICBM Attack on Dnipro
The UK Prime Minister’s spokesperson stated that British intelligence services are “urgently” investigating reports that Russia launched an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) during an attack on Dnipro, The Guardian reported on November 21.
The spokesperson for the UK Prime Minister, speaking on conditions of anonymity, commented:
“As you will understand it is a rapidly developing situation and I don’t want to get ahead of our intelligence services who are looking at these reports urgently, but if true, clearly this would be another example of grave, reckless and escalatory behaviour from Russia and only serves to strengthen our resolve.”
The claim, made by Ukraine’s military, has not yet been confirmed or denied by Russia. However, a Western official speaking to ABC News expressed skepticism about the report.
If true, it would mark the first use of an ICBM in active warfare, according to The Guardian.
A launch from Russia’s Astrakhan region to Dnipro would cover roughly 800 km (500 miles).
Previously on November 21, Ukrainian Air Forces reported that Russia launched an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) on the city of Dnipro, Ukraine, for the first time since the start of the full-scale invasion.
