British Public Favors Ukraine Support Over U.S. Relations, Survey Finds

A poll found that nearly half of Britons (48%) consider it more important for the UK to support Ukraine than to maintain strong relations with the United States. In contrast, 20% of respondents prioritized ties with Washington, while 14% did not select either option. Another 18% said they were unsure, according to YouGov on 20 February.

The survey comes as UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy reaffirms Britain’s commitment to Ukraine, emphasizing that military and financial support will remain a priority despite shifting global dynamics.

Earlier, a separate Gallup poll, found that the percentage of Americans with a favorable view of Russia has dropped sharply, from 28% in 2020 and 15% in 2022 to just 8% in 2024—the lowest level recorded in the past three years.
