The percentage of Americans with a favorable view of Russia has plummeted from 28% in 2020 and 15% in 2022 to just 8% in 2024, marking the lowest level in the past three years, CNN reported, citing Gallup.

Meanwhile, 61% of U.S. citizens now consider Russia an enemy, compared to just 4% who see it as a partner.

Americans' views on Vladimir Putin closely mirror their stance on Russia. In 2024, only 8% expressed confidence that he would “do the right thing” in global affairs, while 9% held a favorable opinion of him.

At the same time, 52% of adult Americans support Ukraine using U.S. weapons to strike Russia, while 42% oppose it, Reuters and Ipsos reported. Republicans are evenly split on the issue, 49%-49%.

According to a report published on February 5, the Kremlin-funded website International Reporters has disguised itself as a legitimate news outlet for over a year, spreading Russian disinformation.
