British-Ukrainian company Trypillian announced the launch of a new fixed-wing drone called ATOM that it says can carry out both reconnaissance and strike missions, according to dev.ua on February 27.

The company said ATOM is designed for tactical and operational ranges, and can be configured quickly for specific missions.

The report indicated that the payload is listed at 2.5 kg, which Trypillian believes is sufficient for a warhead or high-resolution optoelectronic equipment.

It also said ATOM can stay airborne for up to four hours in a reconnaissance and surveillance role, with a stated range is up to 50 km.

Trypillian emphasized protection of control and navigation channels, saying the drone is designed to remain stable under electronic interference.

The report added that the platform is built to integrate into modern combat control systems for transmitting target coordinates and coordinating with other units in real time.

The announcement comes as Ukraine’s drone industry and its overseas manufacturing partnerships expand, including the first Ukrainian defense plant in Britain.

Ukraine’s ambassador to the UK, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, said that it began operating as a “second line of defense” to help ensure production continuity under wartime conditions.

Eventually, it was reported that Ukraine invested in next-generation long-endurance UAV systems built to transmit target coordinates in real time and coordinate with other combat units through integrated command networks.
