Denys Shtilierman, chief designer of the Ukrainian defense company Fire Point, published online footage that appears to show a live FP-7 ballistic missile test launch and wrote, “Welcome, FP7.”

Shtilierman posted the video on X on February, 27 without providing additional technical details.

Fire Point has previously said the FP-7 is designed for strikes at ranges of up to 200 kilometers, describing the missile’s external design as resembling Russia’s 48N6 missile used in the S-400 system.

FP-7: key performance parameters

  • Range of up to 200 km;

  • Flight altitude of about 65 km;

  • Carrying a warhead of up to 150 kg;

  • Claimed accuracy of 14 meters;

  • Speed up to Mach 4.4 (about 5433 km/h);

  • Flight time of roughly 4.2 minutes.

The missile is likely launched using a solid-fuel rocket booster from a ground-based platform, using an inertial navigation system.

Ukraine has already used Fire Point-developed cruise missiles in long-range strikes against Russian military-industrial and logistics targets.

That includes an attack that Ukrainian officials stated was carried out with FP-5 “Flamingo” missiles against the Votkinsk Machine Building Plant in Russia’s Udmurt Republic, a facility associated with the production of ballistic missiles.

Meanwhile, reports emerged that the UAE defense conglomerate EDGE was preparing to acquire a roughly 30 % stake in Fire Point, in a deal valued at about $760 million that would extend the company’s international footprint.
