Ukraine’s 66th Brigade Says It May Have Just Destroyed One of Russia’s Last IFVs in Its Sector

Ukrainian FPV drone operators from the MARA Unmanned Systems Battalion destroyed what the 66th Separate Mechanized Brigade described as possibly one of the last Russian infantry fighting vehicles remaining in its area of responsibility on the Lyman front.
The brigade published footage of the September 3 operation, showing MARA crews continuing their systematic campaign against Russian vehicles and personnel in the sector.

The battalion has been using FPV drones to repeatedly strike Russian equipment along the Lyman axis, gradually reducing the number of armored vehicles available to Moscow’s forces in the area.
In the latest operation, Russian troops riding motorcycles also came under attack from Ukrainian drone operators.
The most notable target, however, was a Russian infantry fighting vehicle.
According to the 66th Brigade, MARA operators destroyed what may have been one of the last remaining Russian IFVs in the brigade’s sector.
That assessment, if accurate, would highlight the extent to which Russian forces in parts of the front are increasingly relying on lighter and less protected transport as conventional armored vehicles become harder to sustain.
Earlier, Ukrainian drone operators destroyed two Russian 2S19 Msta-S self-propelled howitzers in the Vovchansk direction.
Ukraine’s 57th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade reported that the two Russian artillery systems had been positioned behind the front line but were detected and destroyed by Ukrainian drone operators.
