By “Waving His Oreshnik,” Putin Aims to Sabotage Trump’s Future Peace Efforts, Says Zelenskyy
Russian leader Vladimir Putin is attempting to sabotage the efforts of US President-elect Donald Trump to establish peace, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated in his evening address on November 28.
“Waving his ‘Oreshnik’ now is nothing more than an attempt to disrupt President Trump’s efforts, which will undoubtedly come after his inauguration. Putin wants to intensify the situation to ensure that President Trump fails in ending the war,” Zelenskyy emphasized.
President Zelenskyy noted that during Putin's visit to Kazakhstan, the Russian leader once again showcased his arsenal of missiles, promoting his readiness to cause destruction.
“On top of the thousands of missiles that have already struck Ukraine, Putin apparently wants to add thousands more. He has no interest in ending this war. Moreover, Putin wants to prevent others from ending this war as well.” Zelenskyy remarked.
Earlier on November 28, during a press conference following the CSTO summit in Astana, Putin discussed the ongoing war in Ukraine, highlighting Russia’s military capabilities. He also issued threats to target “decision-making centers” in Kyiv with the "Oreshnik" missile.
In response, Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned Putin’s threats, calling them another escalation designed to pressure Ukraine and its allies.
