French-German defense conglomerate KNDS has launched a subsidiary in Ukraine, as announced on the company’s official website, according to KNDS.

In October, KNDS opened KNDS Ukraine LLC in Kyiv, which will facilitate collaboration with Ukrainian governmental institutions and defense industry companies.

The company highlighted that Ukraine has deployed or contracted nearly 800 units of weaponry, including ammunition produced by the French-German partnership. This positions KNDS as one of Ukraine’s key industrial partners.

The new subsidiary will assist the Ukrainian defense sector in effectively conducting maintenance, repair, and overhaul of equipment manufactured by KNDS. The support will extend to various systems, including Leopard 1 and Leopard 2 tanks, CAESAR self-propelled howitzers, PzH 2000 artillery systems, and AMX 10RC armored vehicles.

Moreover, KNDS plans to collaborate with the Ukrainian defense industry to jointly produce 155mm artillery ammunition and associated components within Ukraine.

KNDS is one of Europe’s largest defense conglomerates, founded through the merger of German company KMW and French firm Nexter. Its portfolio includes main battle tanks, armored vehicles, artillery systems, and munitions, among other military equipment.

The CAESAR self-propelled howitzer, known for its mobility and precision, has been a critical asset in the ongoing defense efforts, underscoring KNDS’s commitment to supporting Ukraine’s military capabilities.
