Daily Update: Russia Loses 750 Troops, One Warship and Four Air Defense Systems in One Day

Russian forces lost 750 troops, one naval vessel, four air defense systems, and two multiple launch rocket systems over the past day, according to the General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces on March 9.
The updated battlefield report also outlined Russia’s total estimated combat losses since the start of the full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022.

According to the Ukrainian military, Russia has lost approximately:
1,274,040 personnel (+750 in the past day);
11,745 tanks (+3);
24,167 armored combat vehicles (+10);
38,129 artillery systems (+70);
1,675 multiple launch rocket systems (+2);
1,326 air defense systems (+4);
435 aircraft (no change);
349 helicopters (no change);
166,640 operational-tactical drones (+2,224);
4,403 cruise missiles (no change);
31 warships or boats (+1);
2 submarines (no change);
82,289 military vehicles and fuel tankers (+188);
4,083 units of special equipment (no change).
The Ukrainian General Staff also reported 130 combat engagements across the front line over the past 24 hours.

Russian forces concentrated the largest number of attacks in several eastern sectors, particularly around Pokrovsk, Huliaipole and Kostiantynivka, where Ukrainian troops reported the most intense fighting.
The operational update, released at 8:00 a.m. on March 9, also detailed the scale of Russian strikes during the previous day.
According to the Ukrainian military, Russian forces carried out one missile strike using two missiles, 76 airstrikes, and dropped 264 guided aerial bombs.
In addition, Russian troops launched 9,468 suicide drones and carried out 3,601 attacks on Ukrainian positions and populated areas, including 71 strikes using multiple launch rocket systems.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukraine’s Defense Forces reclaimed 460 square kilometers of territory since the start of 2026.
